The Tragedy of Being Human

In my monograph The Tragedy of Being Human, I attempted to articulate my worldview in the language of philosophy. This worldview has always been evident in my poetry and philosophical works, but this monograph is a synthesis of my poetic visions and philosophical inquiries. It is grounded in the knowledge of philosophical classics, yet it likely resembles no other philosophical system and primarily expresses the soul of its author. Its central idea, in a few words, is this: existence is a kind of “negative magnitude,” and being human is the experience and realization of this true irrationality. Therefore, it is inherently a tragedy and cannot, in any case, be otherwise. None of my ideas—whether in philosophy or poetry—are popular. I consider this natural and do not impose them on anyone. I only express what I hold to be true, and my sole aim is to convince others of this truth.

I deeply believe that almost every person, in the depths of their heart, thinks as I do. The difference is that I express it, while others, more often than not, choose not to rather than being unable to. In life, it is not truth but falsehood that is accepted—deceiving one another and, through this, deceiving oneself. I believe this is unnecessary. A person should place truth above all else. I am convinced that this is better than living in falsehood. However, the denial of truth takes on the form of a kind of conspiracy, to the extent that truth is first seen as a mistake, then a crime, and finally a blasphemy. This is unjust, for everyone, including the seeker of truth, has the right to express their beliefs. The pursuit of truth requires deep thought, but no less so, inner honesty and sincerity. I call upon the reader precisely to this honesty and sincerity. I consider anyone who is inwardly honest and sincere, and at the same time possesses a reasonably clear mind, to be my friend.
