The book presents the essence of a conservative (Latin: consarvare < conservo – I protect, I preserve) worldview, stating that:
- The primary goal is to preserve the idea of a shared territory, where we are rooted and which we call our home.
- We should preserve and earn the right to possess what has been handed down to us by our ancestors.
- We must protect the idea of territorial loyalty, which should be the foundation of any government.
- We must safeguard and earn independence, which previous generations so fiercely carved out from Christian heritage, imperial authority, and Roman law.
- So that one part of society does not feel alienated from another; that they value their connection – feeling that we are one people, bound by fate, and that the evil instigated by any fellow citizen threatens us all.
